Nic picks at her performance

Nicole has rightfully picked at her performance in Australia, admitting that she could barely watch the movie at the Sydney premiere.  Alot of people have criticised Nicole's poor acting, and it seems she is not pleased with it either.

Nicole has revealed she "squirmed" in her seat throughout the premiere because she was so uncomfortable watching herself on screen. She stated: I can't look at this movie and be proud of what I've done. I sat there, and I looked at Keith and went, 'Am I any good in this movie? Let's hope Keith told her the truth!

Apparently Nicole was so nervous about her performance she fled Australia as soon as the premiere was over with husband Keith Urban and their five-month-old daughter Sunday Rose.  This last part is what newspapers are reporting. Wrong though, Sunday Rose was back in Nashville which is the why the trip was rushed. Nicole had to return to relieve the Nanny. She already knew the critics would hate her acting in the film before she arrived in Sydney.

Nicole told Australian radio station 2dayFM: "We ran because I didn't want to read anything. I didn't want to know. I saw my sister and my family and we saw Keith's family and then we were straight on a plane."

Nicole has often admitted she never watches her own movies (except for Moulin Rouge). Is this because she knows deep down inside she is a poor actress?

Look, Nicole isn't very smart ... it's a well known fact. I think she would be smart enough though to know her own acting is the pitts. The Oscar was a sympathy vote in 2003.

This interview, from last november...you can hear the podcast here...

... (and your right, choice, ...there are some mistakes in the re-telling).., but this interview is where the "I've never seen any of my films...except baz's moulin rogue and now this one, Australia"...which at the time I, who am so clearly...absolutely..."abso-positively"...100 percent sure that kidman is a mediocre actress...was in total agreement with kidman that watching her in films must be an excruciating torture! But again, for kidman, who agrees with me that she is totally unwatchable on film, simply makes movies because of her need to be at all times in the public spotlight...the center of attention on the movie set... the so called target of the paps which she claims to detest...yet usually more than not is posing and looking for the paps with a big ass smile...and ultimately on the movie screens of half filled theaters... and all despite her admitted "unwatchablity"...and in that point the movie going public is also in full agreement by not going to see her in movies.

Thanks for the facebook link Maclen. Just goes to show the circus which is Lady Kidman. She'll do anything too to stay in the press even if admitting her performances are cringeworthy. How unprofessional though to admit to it. I would keep quiet about it if I was Lady Kidman.

You know she put her heart and soul into this movie. It was supposed to be an epic, a movie about her homeland and open up the doors for having a movie industry in Oz. As usual, she failed, Oh and she lied again too about Suro either being there or not being there!

Yes, were definately at the point where giving kidman the benefit of the doubt for another year of movies that will be considered a hit or a critical winner are over. Surely the fact that she cannot even manage a $100 mil movie in the US...out side of course of a bit voice part in Happy Feet two years ago...she hasnt been in a over $100 mil US grossing movie since 1995's Batman Forever..and again that was a bit part also...I for one dont see her options as being very rosey right now. But I certainly do expect to eventually hear about her next film role...what else does she have? A family? Her charity work?

Interesting these quotes came from back in November. Why did it take so long for someone to pick up on her remarks? The other thing I find strange - since when do A-lister actors call radio stations to promote movies. Is this normal for the Australian market?

Hi NON ANON
No it is not normal for movie stars to ring radio stations in Australia, only movie stars who like attention. Nicole kidman comes to mind, do you know her? LOL

I cannot imagine Cate Blanchette calling a Sydney radio station, or Toni Collette, Guy Pearce or even Eric Bana, They all live here and their talents speak for themselves.

Choice thanks for the answer. I didn't want to draw any conclusions until I understood more about the pr machine workings in OZ.
