Nicole's Bunny Movie is out!

At the premiere:
The usual smiles and poses from Nashville's 'hottest' couple

Nicole and Keith attended the 35th Annual Toronto International Film Festival on Monday night for  the premiere of her new movie THE RABBIT HOLE. The film, which has been in post production for ages, is tipped to turn Nicole's career around. Why? Well, it is the first time she will be playing an animal. Decked out in a cute bunny suit, Nicole plays a rabbit who likes to dig holes all over the place.  Whoops, sorry that was the original script! After script changes, THE RABBIT HOLE is now about a married couple who lose their son in an accident. Aaron Eckhart plays the husband. Earlier posts on this movie from Nicole Kidman's Journey are shown here and here.

So, do you think Nicole dropped the botox for this role so she could play a tearful, mourning mother?  Or will she rely on tissues to hide her face throughout the film?

I think the original script for Rabbit hole sounds much better. Be funny to see her in a rabbit suit. This movie will tank as both these stars can't open a movie on their own. I think you are spot on, she will need tissues to hide her face during the sad scenes.

One could just guess how she's capable of acting out her scenes...only has a small range of emotional display...and absolutely frozen physical display...ostrich walk, ranting, throaty voicing, erratic and stuff we'd already seen in her previous films many, many times; complete with total void of character portrayal to speak of (ugh, so boring and can't get interested in the plot.) No wonder she's producing and acting in it otherwise, who's going to let this box office poison carry a film

She has no acting ability to be able to show the emotions of a mother whose small child is dead, and I'm sure her maternal instincts aren't too deep to even go there in her head. Another flop - sorry Aaron cause I do like you!

well blue sky, you will be wrong. nicole will be great in this film, according to early reviews she is amazing. you might think she isn't a good mother in real life, but that is what acting is all about. to become a character. Nicole is good at getting into her character. seen any of her films, or just jumping on her hate bandwagon? blue sky my ass. more like cloudy sky.

Nicole Mary Kidman fan, I've seen all her films and she is over-rated. Didn't we hear that she gave an oscar worthy performance in Margot at the Wedding? It failed along with most of her films because she is not a great actress. She is simply a "famous" actress. And that is solely because she was married to Tom Cruise. It doesn't matter how good this film is, it still needs an audience. And she has never been a box office draw.

Maybe she slept her way to get better propaganda machine i.e. reviews going, as this movie stood to make or break her career for good...can see her easily resorting to that kind of tactics...has said in the past fidelity is over-rated (when she was married to tommy)...anything of hers is too gimmicky I'm sorry and can't buy into anything she does...BTW, do see "those two bits of flesh that ooze out from either side when she overdoes it with the needle and smiles too hard" here in full glory.....

Hello Mikki
Didn't you know that Margot was not meant to a big blockbuster film. It was intended to be for independent cinemas, like arthouses. Have you even bothered to see it. Nicole was brilliant in it. I dare you to sit down and watch it. without her in it, the film would have been a flop. But it is actually very good film. I want you to watch it without going in and judging her straight away.

Mikki, I'm sick of people saying she only made it big because of her marriage to tom cruise. how can you say that when she was already building a career in Australia. Have you not seen Dead Calm? Yes, that was all before your loverboy tom cruise. stop giving tom cruise so much credit. HE IS THE ONE WHO CANT ACT. GOT IT?

Word is out that Nicole will appearing on Oprah's down under special in December. Ridiculous huh! Nicole doesn't even live down under, so will be making the trip her ejust to rave on about how proud she is to be an Aussie. Give us all a break, Nicole. Stay in Nashville, and let some interesting Aussies go on the show. You know, like our first female prime minister!

Nicole Mary Kidman fan, go back and read my post. I said I have seen all her films. And yes I know the difference between indies and commercial blockbuster films. She has had little success with either.

I am aware that she started her career in OZ. Are you aware that 23 years ago she needed an "American profile" in order to break into Hollywood? Her marriage to Cruise and the movies she did during the marriage transitioned her into Hollywood. It also made her half of Hollywood's power couple and from that she gained international fame. Whatever you think of Cruise, in the 90's he was the biggest star in Hollywood history. That in itself elevated her to a famous actress. Not her own talents or accomplishments as she had little success in films during the marriage. She had two decent years in films following that marriage before the public tired of her. Her career since has been all hype and media manipulation.

Your a fan and see her as a great actress, and thats fine. Others see the reality based on the success of her films. She had the advantage of being a "famous actress" before ever having to prove her skills and talents as an actress. And in my opinion, she falls short. She has never been a box office draw. And in fact was labeled "box office poison" in 07'.
Critics called for her retirement.

I'm not putting her down. She is obviously ambitious. And she was fortunate to marry Cruise because he did indeed make her famous throughout the world. But in my opinion, she is an actress not a moviestar. She has had a manufactured career thanks to the hype, esposure and manipulation of the media not because of any great parts shes played that any other actress could have done equally as well.

To Anon 11:28 who wonders if "Our Nic" slept her way to roles? Actually, the word about Nicky is that when she was getting her "career" established, when she was younger, she never resorted to sleeping around.

She was wide awake and on her knees.

I'm just saying...

I have seen all her movies before she met up with Keith, and I don't know what it is about her acting, but she makes my skin crawl. She is too stiff, rigid and no personality and can't take on the personality of her character. It is either nothing or overdone. Watching "Practical Magic" is almost like getting two movies in one. When Bullock is on screen it is entertaining and charming. When Kidman appears, I feel like I am watching a high school play. I think my dog could act a better "exorcisim" scene.

A440, she sure did a lot of gratuituous nudity including full frontal and underwater shots full frontal early on in films. Not quite the Snow Queen may had been projected and marketed later on as her personal life took off with cruise. To this day don't know any mainstreet young HW actresses starting off marketing themselves off that openly for stardom. She was lucky to have gotten tommy to marry her; otherwise, who knows after HW vultures and casting couches in which direction her career may had really taken off to survive. Some people here in other blog threads had mentioned her risque and hardcore oz roots early on. On and off camera she sure sounded active. At this point it seems to me as a named celebrity, she could command more results and pull strings than merely getting used (but then who wants this now old, patched up mannequin if not for sheer voyeurism of the work of modern plastic surgeries) -- or maybe I'm naive!

Blue but cloudy sky -
How can you say that about nicole's performance in practical magic. She totally shone in that. It was Sandra, her good friend in real life who acted bad in it. Go watch it again and see what real magic nice brings to it. If u hate her so much, how come you even know her films. I get the feeling you can't keep your eyes off her.

Choice - I have asked you nicely before, can you please remove the unflattering main photo of Nicole at the top of your blog. It is a really bad shot and is mean of you to put it there. Put something nicer.

Kidman needs to be directed with a very firm hand. In my opinion, there have been a few performances where she did some really nice work: To Die For, The Others, Practical Magic come to mind.

But because she IS such a mannered and wooden actor, we get Ice Queen performances again and again: Portrait, Australia, Golden Compass, etc. And they all show off her repertoire of tics and mannerisms: the whispery Marilyn Monroe voice, the fluttering arms and hands, the stick-up-the-ass posture. Over and over.

That's not acting. That's paint by numbers. When you can go to see real actors like Winslet, Blanchett, and Davis reinvent themselves, why bother paying money to see The Ice Queen?

FWIW: I liked The Interpreter and find Moulin Rouge! unwatchable. Literally.

in practical magic nicole was good and sandra was bad

Why should Choice remove the picture from their blog? It isn't your blog. If Kidman looks unflattering, it isn't anyone's fault but her own due to the procedures to her face. Besides, Kidman was made up for this appearance for her Aussie paps. If she felt she looked horrible, she would not have come out of her house. Deal with the fact that this woman is not that attractive.

If you feel this strongly about this woman, no wonder why you feel she is amazing in movies. Yes, I can keep my eyes off of her - she has not impressed me in any movie she has been in, and I only watched those movies because of her co-stars. The woman is awkward to look at on screen.

Choice, please leave the picture on your blog - that is the "natural" Nicole Kidman. Thank you.

Nicole is an ugly mo fo bases on that main photo. I love that photo, it gives me a laugh every time. She had little time to put a proper wig on and get her makeup right for the paps who were waiting outside her house. This picture actualy shows how little of her own hair she has. I challenge ANYONE who thinks the hair on Nicole is real. She is fake all over. She wears horse hair.

The photo will be staying for the foreseeable future TANYA. If you don't like it, don't visit this blog. It is as simple as that.
Readers .... Stayed tuned. We will be presenting a gallery of her least flattering photos in the future where you can decide the no. 1 shot. The winning shot will become the next header shot. Even you Tanya can vote if you want.

Hello a440 and blue sky
You two are a right pair. Have either of you seen Dogville? Nicole was brilliant in it. I cried watching her, she was that good. I felt sorry for her character. Please go watch this, then you will change your mind about her. Ok? Stop picking on her looks, there is more to it than that.

Choice - if it makes you happy to leave that disgusting photo of Nicole on the top then Suit yourself. You can't stop me from visiting, and if i can turn people's perceptions around then my job is done. You should also try watching her movies again. Sick to death of you critical idiots.

Tanya, I have, in fact, seen Dogville. And Birth. And Stain. And Fur. And Birthday Girl. And Margot. And...and...and...

They suck. And she sucks in them. They are all a shameful waste of perfectly good film stock. Dogville especially. A rape victim who is ostracized and chained to a ball and chain. Terrific.

There are perfectly good reasons why these films failed...and they DID fail, all of them. They were bad films. Bad subject matter. Bad scripts. Bad directing and, most of all, pretentious, scene-chewing acting. Courtesy of you-know-who.

You would do well to stop dictating to Choice as to how to run this blog. Go get your own if you're uncomfortable here. Frankly, seeing you defend Kidman's bad choices has become tedious. You're wasting bandwidth.

As you all have probably heard, Rabbit Hole has been picked up by Lionsgate. They will be pushing for an Oscar nomination too apparently. I've seen the short clips and her face and neck still look weird. Thoughts anyone? Her acting was ok.

"...whispery Marilyn Monroe voice" while do agree with the gest of it, this mutton is LEAST giving about herself (no cutsey pooing for or towards anyone -- male or female), ASEXUAL (oddly does not have sexual element in her whatsoever, really puzzling because sex sells; NO, YOU'RE TOO OLD FOR THAT AREA NOW), not humorous, does not schmooze. Her voicing to me is more mechanical, (thinks) prettying approach that falls on deaf ears because lacks in emotion, caring and substantive understanding (more about line deliveries than conveying meanings.) She's just not an actress material...more like an antique shop clerk or something.

I have issues with you when you call it a disgusting picture of Nicole, but you blame others for the picture - not Kidman. Why aren't you coming to your senses and realizing that her face is disgusting, and that's what makes it a disgusting picture. She had her hair and makeup done, is dressed to the nines, and is smiling/posing for the cameras. Again, this IS the "natural" Nicole Kidman.

You won't change our perceptions because we aren't the ones drinking the Kool-Aid. This is reality - if you are sick of us, leave because you can't change what's real.

Anonymous said...

Tanya here's a simple explanation for you. Posters like A440 will tell you they've seen all her films despite the fact they say she's the worst actress alive. Any reasonable person after 1 or 2 would say thanks but no thanks, and not bother to pay attention to them. But these women are obsessed with Keith Urban's wife. Any product she puts out they'll watch. Commercials, movies, appearances, anything. They have to come here to be lulled into a false sense of security that they don't have a problem. How many times can they tell visitors to "leave them alone" and still appear grounded in reality?

A440 said...

You're wrong, Anonymous 1:52. Not only are you incorrect in your statement, you show an inability to read. I've stated clearly that there have been Kidman films that I found enjoyable, and I named To Die For, Practical Magic and The Interpreter as examples.

I've watched Kidman films because it is only fair to see each project at least once before rendering an opinion. It's only fair to give each film a fair go.

So you can blather on about obsession, but the only obsession I see here is in your knee-jerk defense of Kidman and her bad choices.

Talk about not being grounded...

I am grounded, thankyou very much! You will have egg on your face (and Blue Sky will too) when you she gets her Oscar nomination for "The Rabbit Hole". Have you even bothered to watch the scenes released on You Tube for this movie. Her acting in it is amazing. But I am sure all you two will do is criticise her face. When will you realise she does not touch botox or plastic surgery? Give me your honest thoughts on the movie scenes for rabbut hole. I think you will change your minds about her.

I have seen the clips from RABBIT HOLE. I'm sorry but I don't think her acting is that amazing. Same old, same old. And her face still looks frozen. I DO THINK SHE USES BOTOX. Wanna shoot me, now? Whoever at Lionsgate is pushing for her to get an Oscar is out of their mind. I might need to send them a link to this Blog. What planet are you on Tanya (or NMK fan).

Here are the RABBIT HOLE clips for anyone who wishes to see a frozen face at work:

One thing you have to marvel about this celebrity is her ability to capture attention for herself good or bad. The essence of her and her sense of worth is solely guided by how well she thinks she looks. Her surgeries had made some improvements to her looks after much struggle in the first half of this decade. I guess what I'm trying to say is yeah, do see some acting improvement, after her unbelievable poor performance in australia, but more positive projection professionally may also be coming from her improved self-image...do see her old self in some scenes..like eyes wide in the mundane slice of life shots...then again, the problem is she does not progress forward. It's her in her old better days back...over a decade ago. Yeah, she'll be good in T. Williams unable to let go past glories heroines...as to her appearance, definitely frozen wax figure. She has to resort to overly dramatic facial moves just to display normal reactions...looks neurotic, still an oddity, a weird-looking creature (like an albino, freak of nature, bizarre) among healthy, full-blooded humans.....

blue sky said...

Tanya, Tanya, Tanya, the whole world knows Kidman has messed up her face due to procedures and injections. That's the result of the disgusting picture on the main page here. Her face is swollen from all the pre-wedding procedures. You can honestly sit there and tell us all that her lips are real?

Thanks for the video Choice. Not impressed. That's Oscar worthy? Really? She has a hard time holding back her accent, and I'm not feeling it in her face.

Anonymous said...

Did anybody else notice in the videos for Rabbit Hole that her neck seems to been tightened from surgery? Looks like she's been a naughty girl again. LOOK CLOSELY AND YOU WILL SEE...

Anonymous said...

Wow enlighten me. Thought neck plastic surgery was something not done and between the neck and hands typically gave away the surgical work done to face or real age. Anyone?

Anonymous said...

On her being a frozen waxwork, some past actresses when talking about her said she is "scary" (julie newmar, fay dunaway etc.) That's something ain't it, given you'd think they'd pretty much seen most of HW extremes...she's really really "creepy" to me

Anonymous said...

How dare any of you criticise her. Just you wait!!!! She will win the Oscar for Rabbit Hole, and then you can all go disappear. Nicole rules. Got it?

whatchasayy said...

Yeah, who starts these buzz on how well her performance is or that she's talented?! Having seen most of films, there is absolutely no evidence of that anywhere in them in the way that true actresses c.blanchet or k. winslow can and engross you into their movies. This lady is seriously mentally limited, very shallow and terribly lightweight by comparison. Has no comprehension whatsoever of adding facets or characterization of all her movie roles. Small wonder, ALL her movies are totally boring. I can barely sit through any of them let alone to review after years later and still find them sloppy, bubble-gum and totally repulsive. Snippets of her rabbit hole preview are what had been predicted by astute and critical people already, sappy or ranting (how she played V. Woolfe) It was ranting, overly dramatic (has to to move her face) and difficult to watch again...and this is going to be pitched for the Oscar's...totally ridiculous how much of crap are we expected to swallow again

Choice, do you feel NK is fading away? All the hype at the Toronto film festival and almost immediately shes off the radar. Well, finally something new, a tease. One photo from the film set of Trespass. Better check it out all. This bit of NK news will fade even faster. You can see it on Just Jared.

Choice said...

Whatchasay - who is pitching this new film? Firstly the director of Rabbit Hole. He has done a couple of interviews now where he states that he doesnt understand the controversy about her botox or plastic surgery as he never saw her doing it while he was working with her. What an idiot. DOes he think she would stand on the set and inject Botox in her face. I have watched both scenes and her face is immobile, do you agree? Also, his job is on the line so he is pushing her performance. The other people pushing this film is LIONSGATE who desperately need a big hit film. You wonder why Cynthia Nixon didnt do the film, since she was a Tony for the stage version.

I cant even watch the scenes of her in THE HOURS as it is pathetic and quite short. How on earth did Julianne Moore miss out on the Oscar. So very unfair. I bet she hates Nicole.

Mikki - Fading? Well she wont allow that. I will be totally shocked if she gets the Oscar for Rabbit Hole as the previews I have seen are nothing spectacular. All I see is that frozen face, not a real actor.
