Gwyenth saves the day!

Out Always In Replacement?

It seems for many years there has been talk of a movie that Nicole will produce and star in called The Danish Girl. For some reason, this movie just doesn't seem to get off the ground. Is it because of the difficult theme? Nicole is supposed to play a man who becomes a woman. Is this beyond her acting abilities? Mmm, maybe.

The Danish Girl is based on a true story of a couple who maintained an unconvential marriage until Einar Wegener (Kidman) began a series of sex change operations in 1929. The King of Demark declared their marriage invalid. Wegener underwent five operations to become a woman., but died at 49 years of age after complications following surgery.

Charlize Theron was set to play Nicole's husband, but recently pulled out. Who knows the real reason Charlize did that. It could have been because she didn't want to be associated with box office poison Nicole, or she may have been offered a better role.

Not to worry, there are always other actresses prepared to step in to save the day. And who better to play Nicole's husband than another box office poison, Gwyen Paltrow. Gwyen has signed on, and now filming may finally begin. Notice I say may? Well you just never know. This film has a long history of 'being in the works'.

Oooeer what was wrong with the first post? Do tell...?

I remember reading about this some time ago and thought Charlize would be perfect as the transgender, not Nicole. Charlize has a got a broad shouldered ranginess that could be convincing (and she can act the pants off La Kidman) Nicole is to skinny-assed and narrow-shouldered to be believable. I guess if its her project she wants the plum role. I don't blame Charlize for not wanting to play second fiddle to a has been...

Why does this woman always do these dumb artsy movies? Just makes her look stranger. If that's possible. And Gwyneth. I wouldn't waste my time on her either.

Yuk, who goes to see this movie, why would she want to make a movie of this nature with tiny niche target markets (bizaars, freaks, more yuk...) It's could be titillating between yuk and lesbian porno overtone attracting...whatever. Two old, one relatively old, box-office poisons, yuk, more yuk....

Well, I was surprised that they were actually able to get the "name" actress paltrow...that is until I actually looked at paltrow's film record! Beside, of course, the recent blockbuster "Ironman" paltrow scored, paltrow's recent "regular" films actually look like this:

2008 "Two lovers"-- $3.1 mil domestic...$13mil total...

2007 "The Good Night" $22k domestic...$508k total

2006 "Running with Scissors" grossed $7mil domestic-$7.4mil total

2006 "Infamous" $1mil domestic $2.6mil total

2005 "Proof" $7.5 mil domestic $14.1mil total

...I had actually speculated which "lesser" actress kidman would pick up for this film...and as I noted at UM a few days ago...kidman actually found a costar with a worse box offce record than she has!

This film has every potential of being one of those movies that is totally ruined by bad casting. Sure the story looks interesting enough, but then you have two of Hollywood's blandest and most boring actresses in the lead roles, who'll probably turn it into a snoozefest of wooden acting.

Hey Maclen - i think they only time paltrow had real success is when they accidentally gave her the oscar for "Shakespeare in Love". Everyone knew Cate should have got it for Elizabeth. Her other film "Sliding doors" is a firm fan favourite but that would be about it.

Anyway, this movie just wont work in my opinion. It's too weird themed to appeal to a mass audience.

As usual, I'm a day late and a dollar short to most blogs... but I think NK deserves sympathy for being married to that freak of nature, Tom Cruise. As far as I know she doesn't have a rep for being an utter TWAT like Goop. Now there's a C U Next Tuesday who deserves a site like this. Paltrow is pretty universally despised for being a pretentious cut-throat. NK is wishy-washy compared to that beeyotch.
