I will not go quietly!

Remember when Nicole said she would retire to enjoy motherhood and the quiet life after a string of flop movies? She's hoping you've forgotten that. NINE is a confirmed flop, but that doesn't mean she will retire now. She just moves to the other part of life where she gets a different kind of attention. She will not go quietly, OK?

Nicole spoke at the opening of the Family Violence Prevention Fund Headquarters in San Franciso last Friday in her role as Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Fund for Women. The Fund aims to end violence against women and children.

Nicole said:“We’ve been able to approach governments around the world and we’ve been able to say, we want you to acknowledge your laws, change your laws and to speak out strongly. This is action, this is San Francisco showing what they can do and it's starting as you're right here -- the walls, the windows -- this is the place where it begins. And we have to make that vision stronger."

It is always good to see a celebrity using their name for a good cause. However, it's hard not to think that Nicole uses them as photo opportunities. Is she truly sincere in this role? Who really knows, but looks like she had a trip to the Botox Clinic before attending (based on the above left photo).

How does the UN feel about violence against men? Especially since Nicole's bodyguards perpetrated violence against that photographer. I don't think she is an adequate role model against violence. Of course she will use whatever she can to try and stay in the limelight.

When she did that magazine cover recently where she was dressed in the leotard and looked like a transvestite - there was discussion that she was encouraging sexual violence against women. she is a bit of a hyprocite. I bet a million dollars she is just doing this ambassador thing for the attention.

Choice - do you think Nicole will get any more movie roles this year?

I always pointed out that alot of these "charity" appearences usually occur when kidman has a film to promote...in 2006 and 2007, she took the kids of the Sydney Hospital to her films Happy Feet and Golden Compass when those films opened in Oz on xmas day and she just happened to be spending xmas in Oz...her next two films of 2008 and 2009, Australia opened in late Nov...and Nine doesnt open in OZ till late Jan '10...so, naturally she didnt treat the kids to a day at the movies...when she was promoting Australia in NYC, she walked off the set of The View, and proceded to the UN to present the petition of signatures for the cameras...this past Nov. while promoting Nine, she appeared at a congressionl hearing...in front of the cameras... so now in Jan she is at a groundbreaking on behalf of the UN in SF. Only this time it is not for the already confirmed failure NIne....but for much dire promotion...herself...and her failed career.

ANON 4:13pm. Violence against men falls below the radar. We will never forget what her bodyguard did to the photographer despite her wishing we all would.

HELL 4:20pm. The only role Nickers might get is in The Danish Girl if it ever gets the green light. This film has been 'in the works' so long it is unlikely. She was supposed to start filming NEED with Naomi Watts but that will never happen either. Apparently Naomi is not happy with the script, or the lack of facial expressions of her co-star.

Maclen is spot on! Nicole and her PR machine at it again.

Yes, Choice, no amount of inept promo is going to help her...just noticed this article posted at the kidman fansie site...

owen pallett says farewell to final fantasy

...basically, it's pallet pretty much saying he is off of doing the scoring for Rabbit Hole, kidman's supposed next film. He claims that he told the producers he may have to drop out when he began about 3 months and now he has to go off and tour for his own stuff! He says the film isnt even "locked" yet...meaning it's still being edited! He also blames the "producers" of Rabbit Hole for not getting him on scoring the film in time to finish it...now recall, Rabbit hole filmed for only about 5 weeks in June and july of last year. So thats about 6 months time to get the film done. So if pallet leaves, thats a delay to get another scorer. And it seems there is not much better news about Danish Girl...as it is rumored that director alfredson has dumped that film. So, as these little pieces dribble out, it makes me think that kidman may not get a film out this year... and wouldnt that be pure karma!

Maclen - had a strange feeling that something was up with Rabbit Hole. Anythign she seems to touch doesn't work, even with Aaron Eckart in it.

Now, if her career does dry up in 2010 and she disappears off the planet, that means this Blog can finish up. But if she decides to go the other way of being a full time spokesman for anything going, then this Blog is going to have lots more fun. So many staged moments to cover, it will be a hoot!

Seriously Maclen, you don't really want to see the back of her, do you? Afterall, she's given us a tonne of laughs (even if they weren't planned on her behalf).

Yes the timing of her PR staging has gotten more sloppy (so obvious) as her surgical and cosmetic treatments that precede her award/on display events that aren't quite ripe to be seen and sloppy. Reminds me of those B below jiggle celebrities and their sex tapes that get "accidentally" released but no one's interested...hey, here's one are NK might consider if all things fail

Need fell through because the script was not ready. There was never a schedule set and it never went into pre-production. If you can't get the fact straight why should anyone read this blog?

Well, actually Choice, I just meant that she would announce it to one of her leaks to a some foreign website to spread the word. I dont think, of course she would actually mean it...but as you say, it would make good fodder for us on the site!

If she's doing the charity thing then it can only mean that she's got another sleazy magazine cover shortly due out. Nobody in Hollywood is as inconsistent as Nicole Kidman. It's like how she always publically goes on about being a 'serious artist' and then she'll go off a do a tacky drinks commercial... or how she's shy and private and then she turns up at the opening of an envelope (no doubt, she'll be fame whoring it up at this years Oscars or Awards) - basically she's full of merde.

So...the "kidman kurse" keeps rolling along...

Weinstein Co Suffers More Exits & Layoffs; Why 'Nine' Was Such A Financial Disaster

...I tried to "warn" weinCo, who seem unable of avoiding repeated past mistakes, after their disastrous 2003...and immediate loss of Miramax in early 2004...for not just placing kidman in one of their films that year...but two films! And despite even giving kidman a pretty small and minor role, Nine still crashed and burned! Cant wait to see the next kidman-weinstein collaberation in weinstein's next studio startup!

She appears like she peaked out in her looks of 90's, just far more aged in person and frankly looks like a caricature of her much younger self. Still displays the same attitudes to her surroundings, and wears similar outfits all worn the same way, tight, rigid and inflexible....really weird, truly freaky....

You are all rotten. Nicole is a famous star, and she will come back better than ever. You can all go get lost!

Maclen - thanks for the link about NINE. Appears to be a total financial disaster. Some interesting comments too from readers in that as well.

Ha! Yeah, shes famous, thanks to tom cruise...but only after a couple of years without cruise, she's an utter failure!

Yeah, I like finke alot more than some other online industry pundits who seem to grovel up to certain studios for access. Finke pretty much goes after everybody. And I think she sums up Nine pretty well. Weinco can continue to try to "finagle" a way to stay in business a while longer...but the endgame seems to be inevitiable. And once again, kidman is right in the mix!
