The new Kidman movie TRESPASS, also starring Nicolas Cage is going straight to DVD. Why? As we reported many months ago, the pairing of two has-beens was a very bad idea especially when they both wear wigs. TRESPASS is also the same old, same old. The home invasion theme has been done before, and alot better too (think PANIC ROOM).

Forget the DVD, don't watch at all. At least you will save yourself 90 minutes of Kidman doing the "I'm so scared but my face is frozen" routine.

Always happy to turn up to anything, as long as it involves photos and wine (even the opening of a shopping mall will do), Lady Kidman didn't look too bad when she rocked up in this red frock for a film premiere. The film was "Snow Flower & the Secret Fan". Red is definitely her colour, not the white ones she usually goes for.

Now we just have to work on Keith's boring suits. He used to know how to dress before she came along. Just saying ....

Standing next to Kate Middleton at the BAFTA dinner last weekend in LA, Nicole looked quite chubby in comparison. Nicole has never been one to miss out on an opportunity to meet royals or anyone famous for that matter, so she made damn sureshe got to chat with Wills and Kate. As you can see, Nicole's extra long hair extensions were invited to the dinner too. Wouldn't it have been funny if they fell out!

Nicole touched down in Oz with Faith and Sunday for some family celebrations. The lady who claims she no longer uses Botox is in town for a week. Her sister, Antonia also arrived home from Singapore with her new baby and other children for the celebrations. If Nicole is no longer using Botox, how come her face still looks frozen stiff? If you had been away from home filming, and had not seen much of your husband or family, what is the one thing you would do? Stay in for some family time? Sure, most of us would. The Kurbans are an odd couple. Nicole and Keith put a hockey game in Nashville at the top of the Agenda, rather than family time. I guess when you have Nannies at your peck and call, why would you want to stay in with a crying baby. Getting sloshed at a hockey game sounds heaps more fun. Why can't she wear a longer jumper over those tight leggings?

This is Nicole on location with her latest film, the HBO production "Hemingway and Gellhorn". In this scene she is running for her life as a reporter covering the Spanish Civil War. How authentic looking? Not a chance with that botox face back into action. The frozen look is back. The way she is running is very odd too - she looks rather uncoordinated. Just saying. Can't see this film being a hit. Could be wrong?

Currently, Kidman is filming Hemingway and Gellhorn with Clive Owen. This is a HBO movie, and Nicole plays Ernest Hemingway's third wife, war correspondent Martha Gellhorn. Following that, Kidman goes into rehearsals for the Broadway play Sweet Old Bird of Youth, alongside James Franco. If you are wondering who will be playing the old bird, you have one guess!
This year will also include Nicole's favourite thing of all: Red carpet events where she can play up to the Paparazzi, and drink glasses of wine (remember she doesn't drink). Nicole will be promoting her new film Trespass with co-star Nicolas Cage. There is also the rumoured production of The Danish Girl - the film that was going to be filmed two years ago but there were ongoing issues with obtaining a co-star.

Further down on the Agenda, it appears that Kidman will finally get to spend some time with the baby they desperately wanted. Now, who said these lovely words about having children:

"Children are children - you'll die for your children. When you feel that as parent, that's unconditional love."

Deep and meaningful words spoken by a completely devoted mother. What a gal!

For a brand new father, Keith has a very busy year ahead, touring most of the year to promote his new album Get Closer. These two must REALLY need the money. Sickening ...

In our latest poll, 30% of readers said Kidman would win the Oscar for best actress in Rabbit Hole. The 2011 Oscars have rolled out now ... and Kidman didn't win. Congratulations to Natalie Portman.

Some would say Kidman didn't even deserve to be nominated, but that's the way campaigns go. Money speaks volumes. We're not saying Natalie Portman should have won either, but ALOT of money was spent on the Black Swan Oscar campaign. To be honest, Black Swan is an over-rated film and one that will not be added to this DVD library anytime soon.

Back to Nicole. What is next for a lady so desperate for attention? Do you think she will be satisfied to sit at home and play Mum to new baby Faith Margaret? Think again, folks.

Nicole is due to 'perform' in the Broadway version of "Sweet Old Bird of Youth", this year alongside the delicious James Franco Not sure if it is a wise career choice for Franco to be connected with Kidman, but stranger things have happened. Kidman also has MORE film premieres to attend with the release of the thriller Trespass with Nicolas Cage. She likes the red carpet treatment.

I felt so much love for the surrogate

Nicole Kidman was interviewed on Australia's Sixty Minutes tonight. The birth of Faith Margaret to a surrogate (rumoured to be her personal assistant), is an experience Kidman refers to as "deeply emotional, moving."

"Having given birth and then being there to see my child born in that way, I felt so much love for our surrogate, gestational carrier," said Kidman.

Kidman also explained why she uses the term 'gestational carrier' as opposed to 'surrogate' - something she was criticised for in the days following the announcement of baby Faith's birth.

"We were trying to be accurate," she shares. "The term 'gestational carrier' is used if it's your biological child and if it isn't, then you use 'surrogate.'

Perhaps the real reason she used the term 'gestational carrier' is to make sure people believe her own 43 year old eggs were used. Not for a minute does she want you to believe otherwise. I mean, does it really matter? She should love the baby regardless of whether it is biologically hers or not.

Opening up about her roller-coaster ride with fertility, Kidman reveals, "Anyone that's been in the place of wanting a child knows the disappointment, the pain and the loss you go through. Struggling with fertility is such a big thing and it's not something that I would run away from talking about. We were in a place of desperately wanting another child and I couldn't get pregnant," she says tearfully. "I get emotional just talking about it, because I'm so grateful."

The 43 year old famewhore, who claims she no longer uses botox attended the premiere of JUST GO WITH IT in New York this week. Never one to miss out on a photo opportunity, Nicole turned up in a leather skirt and leather jacket, plus her hair extensions. The face looked remarkably tight for someone who no longer uses botox.

What really took the cake was the forced hug by the three ladies who are all in the film, including Jennifer Aniston. Interestingly, Kidman has only a cameo in the comedy so probably didn't need to attend at all ... right? It's all too much really, isn't it?

Her performance in Rabbit Hole isn't quite in the same league as winner Natalie Portman's. Not to worry, there is still the Oscars. No surprise for us to see the Kurbans pull this baby news out of their hat today. Such perfect timing, eh! Sunday Rose now has a baby sister thanks to a surrogate whose womb they rented out for nine months in 2010. Using Nicole's eggs and Keith's swimmers, a baby called Faith Margaret entered the world just after Christmas. This explains their sudden departure from Australia just before Christmas. Had to get home to hand over the cheque.

Do you think this is the same surrogate that 'helped out' for Sunday? Nah, let's not be mean. Kidman definitely carried that one. She told us so, and we believe her. Congratulations to all involved.

Nicole missed out on the Best Actress Award for 'Rabbit Hole' at the Golden Globe Awards today. She also missed out at the BAFTA Awards last Friday. Natalie Portman won the Best Actress Award for 'Black Swan' on both occasions.

Two down, possibly two to go! The SAG Awards will be held in late January for which Kidman has also received a nomination. The all-important Academy Award nominees are yet to be announced. If she keeps missing like this, chances are she won't get nominated for the most gracious award of them all.

GOOD NEWS! Nicole did not go home empty handed today, afterall. We decided to award Keith and Nicole the Most Camera Loving Couple Award. These two must have a mantelpiece full of these type of awards from over the years.

We've been asked if we will still consider ending this Blog if Kidman wins the Oscar. Anything is possible but don't hold your breath Kidman fanatics.

Nicole 'admits' what we all knew: Botox

Nicole Kidman has apparently revealed something that might shock you. Wait for it ... she has used Botox! Some people may argue that she still uses the rat poison.

In her own words, the reason she stopped using it is: "I didn't like how my face looked afterward. Now I don't use it anymore — and I can move my forehead again."

There is speculation that this announcement by Kidman never occurred, since its source is a German magazine. You would think Kidman would save this news for a more reliable source. Nevertheless, it has generated interest around the world, so we'll have our fun with it too. Kind of smells of Oscar campaign sabotage too by another camp. Just saying.

If indeed true, all we need now is Nicole to 'admit' to the other procedures she has had done e.g. inflated lips, enhanced boobs, cheek implants, hairpieces etc. Nobody believed her in 2007 when she told Marie Claire magazine that she was completely natural. In her own words back then:
"I am completely natural. I have nothing in my face or anything. I wear sunscreen, and I don't smoke. I take care of myself."

You know a Kidman film is on the horizon when a new magazine cover hits the stands containing another tacky interview. Harpers Bazaar feature the photo-shopped frozen lady on their latest cover, with a new interview inside for your reading pleasure. Golly gosh, Jennifer Aniston is the one asking the questions in a 'clever' marketing stint! That's right, the two appear together in the new Adam Sandler comedy movie JUST GO WITH IT.

Public relations are a very important thing to Kidman at the moment. Not only is she dying to get that Oscar for RABBIT HOLE, but she desperately wants you to see her diverse range. She can do comedy, not just depressing films! She also wants you to know how well she gets along with Jennifer, and how they have become life long friends now. Okay we can handle that. What we can't handle is the usual tripe that Kidman spews forth during these silly interviews.

How often do we have to hear Nicole, or Keith for that matter (think Oprah show), reminding us how lucky they are to have found each other. Something smells fishy when a couple has to keep reminding us of that. Agree? Read the new Kidman interview right here. The best response from the Kidman interview is:

It's all a charade

2011 is here! Happy New Year to all our readers. We're off to a good start with the latest Poll indicating a strong interest for NKJ to continue. We were actually considering throwing in the towel if Kidman was able to turn her career completely around. Just considering, that's all (out of respect LOL).

Of course the career turn-around, if it does occur, has many obstacles to go through. Kidman gained some nominations for her new film RABBIT HOLE. NKJ has seen the film, and thought it was quite good, but not brilliant. The usual distractions remain in place for any Kidman film since 2004, so it will be interesting to see how the once-freckled, once-frizzy haired lady from Down Under fares with the upcoming Awards season (including the 'all important' Oscars).

It is worth mentioning that RABBIT HOLE has only opened in limited theatres in the USA. That could mean that cinemas are not convinced the movie's theme will resonate with the public over the festive season. It may pick up momentum in coming weeks, we will see. It is yet to open in other countries.

Rabbit Hole opens in cinemas in limited release in US today. Other countries will follow shortly. Nicole's performance as a grieving mother has earned her Golden Globe and SAG nominations this week. Such nominations are considered very good chances to earning an Oscar nomination.

Nicole has obviously taken on board many of the criticisms about her acting and immobile face, and worked hard to deliver a performance that many are raving about. If she is able to win an Oscar, we will seriously consider discontinuing this Blog. Why? In respect of her being able to turn her career around when we honestly thought she wouldn't. We criticised her endlessly and announced that her career was well and truly dead.

This Blog attracts many readers, and we appreciate that. You are welcome to vote on a new Poll on whether Nicole Kidman's Journey should continue or not. A firm decision will be made in the new year based on feedback (and how Nicole fares in all of these upcoming awards). Thank you.

The Kurbans joined Oprah and other Aussie stars on stage yesterday to sing the Peter Allen classic "I Still Call Australia Home". It's all part of Oprah's Down Under Specials filmed at the Sydney Opera House. Russell Crowe was the only Aussie on stage who actually lives here (so he probably didn't really need to sing it).

Olivia Neutron-Bomb, Hugh Jackman and the Kurbans are all famous for raving about our wonderful country, but prefer to live in America ... for work reasons, of course. Ex-patriots want the best of both worlds when it suits them.

Love Olivia, but looks like she borrowed some of Nicole's Botox supply. Just saying.

Sometimes Mr Kidman scrubs up quite good, especially from a distance. It hides the wrinkles and the years of heavy drinking and boozing. He definitely looks yummy in the top shot, some definition happening as he works out on their Sydney balcony. BUT ... only a celebrity would wear his hairpiece while working out. Give it up Keith! Shane proudly sports his bald head, we dare you to as well.

As you would expect, Granny Freeze popped in for one of these shots to ensure Keith didn't steal all of the attention. These fame whores have once again proven that even at their Sydney hideaway, they want attention from the Paps - otherwise they would have replaced the glass screen. Oprah just realised the freaks are in town too

The Kurbans are back Down Under to appear on Oprah's Australian TV specials this week! Brace yourself fellow Australians for more boring banter from these two ex-patriots. Guaranteed they will behave like they are so proud to be Aussies, and will rave about how they were so lucky to find one another ... bla, bla, bla. Why can't Nicole tell us something interesting for a change. For example ... how involved is the surrogate mother in Sunday Roast's life? Or how much Viagra does Keith need to get excited over Nicole in the nude? Now that would make for a more interesting show.

In the meantime, keep in mind Oprah that Australians don't care much for Kidman, and don't buy Keith's records for that matter either. In case you didn't know Oprah: Nicole has not lived in Australia since 1990 because it is not good enough for her, despite what she may tell you. Couldn't you get better guests on your show, Oprah? How about Toni Collette, Cate Blanchette or Guy Pierce? They actually live in Australia so it would make your Aussie TV shows that much more authentic. Da ya think people wanna see Granny Freeze on ya show every other month? No way! Unless we start hearing the real truth about her corny life.

It's been a big week for Nicole and Keith. Appearing on Oprah the other day, and The Rabbit Hole premiere in New York last night. Nicole is still being tipped for a second Oscar despite the botox jokes still going full force. Some reviewers claim it is the first time in ages her face has some movement. Perhaps they watched different trailers/scenes to us. Interestingly, our latest Poll results are showing that many people don't think she stands a chance of a second Oscar.

Nicole and Keith appeared on Oprah this week (and will also appear on the Oprah Down Under TV Special in a fortnight). As usual, the 'very private' couple opened up about their life together. Keith talked about his demons again and said he never would have kicked his alcohol and cocaine addictions without Nicole.

He said "She really should have walked. I'm just glad she didn't. She made a decision to initiate, ultimately, this intervention and the love that was in that room at that moment was just right."

Keith, here is a question from us: We are all over the eternal gratitude you have towards Nicole. You rave about her in concerts, you sing songs about her. Is this part of your marriage contract - to constantly sing her praises? Just asking ...

It's the wonderful Country Music Awards (CMA) again. That means Nashville's hottest and 'sexiest' couple get to play up for the cameras again. Fortunately for us, Nicole has chosen to restrain those big new boobs this time and wear something more acceptable. Whether this white dress is suitable for her age is another question. Another positive is that you can't see her G-string. Remember the 'Australia' Premiere in London?

During the CMA evening, Keith once again thanked his wife for the musical inspiration she has been to him. What he failed to mention though is that his music sales have declined since he started writing songs with her in mind. Listen to your fans, Keith! Keep your marriage stuff at home, the fans don't wanna know! Don't you read Urban Myths Blog?

Outspoken former model Paulina Porizkova, known for saying what the majority think, has taken aim at Nicole Kidman for refusing to age gracefully. As we all know, Nicole has never confirmed reports she has undergone cosmetic surgery - but Porizkova insists it's obvious she has had work done, and it's depressing that such a beauty had to go to such extremes.

Paula raged, "She annoys me because I think that she WAS one of the most beautiful women ever and one of the greatest actresses; I really looked up to her.

"And when you start doing this (cosmetic surgery) to what already is beautiful... I guess that kind of insecurity really disheartens me because it makes me feel like, 'Well then, what about me? If you're so beautiful and you're so perfect and you need to change that to a different kind of perfection, where does that leave the rest of us?'"

Porizkova now urges Kidman to do the honest thing and let the public know her looks aren't all her own: "When it's so obvious - when you grow that big mouth... - why not admit to it."

The ex-model insists she has never gone under the knife - but, like so many aging beauties, she often considers it.

She adds, "I do nothing. I've done laser treatments, but I count that as nothing as technically it leaves you looking exactly the same... I've definitely had the desire (to remove wrinkles) and I battle with that desire on a daily basis because nothing ages as poorly as a beautiful woman's ego.

"I don't like to see it (youthful look) going away and I don't like this dragging down (of the face), and developing jowls and this weird neck thing, but it's age. At some point I've got to face it."

Nicole has done her fair share of roles which require the concerned look. It works well with the high-arched eyebrows. Shooting recently started on Kidman's new film with Nicolas Cage called Trespass which sees the two playing a married couple held hostage until the wife promises to stop using Botox, and the husband learns to go bald gracefully. We hear there may be scenes where Nicole is forced to wear her leotard outfit and other S & M attire to entertain the abductors.

Look carefully at the above shot from the film, and marvel at Kidman's incredible ability to look scared. This is the work of a genius. On another note, it would be quite boring for her to be held hostage with Cage who is not well known for interesting conversation. Oh well, I guess they can discuss wig maintenance tips with each other while they wait ... and wait.

The Oscar race is on. If you are an actor or actress who wishes to get an Oscar nod, you often need a big film distributor behind you. Kidman's latest film "Rabbit Hole" was unveiled at the recent "Toronto International Film Festival". This festival is where it all happens. It's where film distributors gather to watch films and decide which ones to buy. Lucky for Nicole, Lionsgate saw something in the film which her own company produced (Blossom Films). In fact, Lionsgate thought so much of her performance that they are pushing for an Oscar. Could Nicole's box office poison days be up? Or are cinemagoers too tired of her to bother giving her another chance to redeem herself?

The Oscars can be so unfair. A brilliant Australian film "Animal Kingdom" is starting to get international recognition and may get an Oscar nod for best screenplay. However, the Academy usually goes for a well known name when they give an Oscar for a best actor and best actress. "Animal Kingdom" features a brilliant performance by Aussie actress Jacki Weaver, who incidentally can act circles around Nicole. Jacki chose not to do the Hollywood thing during her long career, and may miss out on an Oscar nod. Let's hope she does get included in the list of female actresses. Nicole and Keith attended the 35th Annual Toronto International Film Festival on Monday night for the premiere of her new movie THE RABBIT HOLE. The film, which has been in post production for ages, is tipped to turn Nicole's career around. Why? Well, it is the first time she will be playing an animal. Decked out in a cute bunny suit, Nicole plays a rabbit who likes to dig holes all over the place. Whoops, sorry that was the original script! After script changes, THE RABBIT HOLE is now about a married couple who lose their son in an accident. Aaron Eckhart plays the husband. Rumours persist that Bella Cruise wants to move in with Nicole and Keith. Why? Obviously the teenager has forgotten what a lousy cook Nicole is.

Rather than donate GENEROUS amounts of money to charities, the Kurbans have decided to invest in MORE real estate. In their endeavour to own an abode in every major city, the rich pair have now bought up in New York. The $12m NY apartment is fairly posh, with stunning Hudson River views, and an elevator to accommodate their car (AKA sky garage). That way they can avoid the Paparazzi by driving straight into the lift and up to their apartment. Actually, they don't really need this car elevator since the Paps are no longer interested in them anymore ... right?

Who will save the day?

Remember when Kidman was all set to start filming THE DANISH GIRL with Charlize Theron? Remember when Charlize pulled out? Then Gwyneth Paltrow stepped in to replace Charlize. However, not long after, Gwyneth pulled out too. THE DANISH GIRL remains on hold.

In another post, we mentioned that Kidman was set to start filming a thriller called TRESPASS with Nicolas Cage this month. Nicolas was cast to play Kidman's husband, but apparently pulled out of the film just days ago. The word is that he didn't want to play that character, preferring the role of the abductor. Anyway, the lastest news is that he has rejoined the cast, for whatever reason. Contract stuff, perhaps? There is still time to pull out again, Nicolas.

Do you wonder if it has anything to do with her continued slump in the earnings list. Just yesterday, reports came through that Kidman continues to fall in the pay list of Hollywood actors, and is no longer in the Top 10. Once able to command $18 million for a film, Kidman would be lucky to command 18 cents these days. With a string of flops behind her, is it any real surprise? Even distributors are avoiding touching her still unreleased film THE RABBIT HOLE.

Well, that is the case with the new film TRESPASS set to start filming in August. There have been rumours flying around about the teaming up of Kidman and Nicolas Cage for this film for awhile. They keep persisting, so we thought we'd include it on here. The two will play a married couple who are held captive by a nasty gang who want lots of money for their return. Good luck trying gang. You are doing everyone a favour by keeping them hostage.

Kidman and Cage might seem like an odd union to most. However there are several things in common that make these two the perfect choice. Firstly, they both love hair pieces. Secondly, they both love plastic surgery. And last, but not least, they both can't act.

Nicole's very recent Sydney visit was to attend family celebrations for sister Antonia's recent marriage to banker Craig Marron. Nicole's 43rd birthday happened a day later. Nicole then flew out of Australia and when she landed back in the US, it was still her birthday due to the time difference. Happy 43rd, Gran.

Antonia, a former Sydney-sider, moved to Singapore not long ago with her four children to live with Craig who is based there. All sounds kind of odd, doesn't it. How her ex-husband Angus, ever agreed to that is beyond us. Apparently she was keen to leave Australia because of continued media interest in her and her children. Considering Antonia has a relatively low career in Australia, that makes no sense. Or is it because of the continued speculation about her being a surrogate for big sister? Who knows, but who the hell would want to live in hot, sweaty Singapore over lovely Sydney? Who's going to look after Mum and Dad Kidman when they get older now? Even worse, the poor children can't see their father very easily now, can they. Talk about being selfish. Another rumour flying around is that Antonia is pregnant with her fifth child (or sixth, depending on your point of view). Interesting how one sister is so fertile, while the other is as baron as Sharon.

Often big movies are made in Oz, and they are always on the lookout for extras. Nicole is simply trying her luck on that front. Nicole has been in Hawaii filming a cameo for the Jennifer Aniston/Adam Sandler film Just Go With It. So small is Nicole's part that she had plenty of time to hang out at the beach with daughter Sunday Rose and jog in her favourite black tracksuit. Jogging when you are that thin surely isn't good for the heart.

This cameo appearance may all be part of her new agent's "Reinvention of Nicole" strategy. You know, to slowly re-introduce her to the public after a string of flops. If this film fails, Nicole can say that she was only in it for 10 seconds, so cannot be held to blame.

Kidman & Jackman team up again

Hugh Jackman will team up again with Nicole Kidman for a new project. Good news though, it's not to star together in another flop. Hugh is teaming up with Nicole as an ambassador, in Australia's bid to host a FIFA world cup.

He says he will urge decision makers to support Australia's bid for host in 2018 or 2022. The FIFA Executive Committee won't make a decision until December. We wonder how much influence Kidman can provide to this sort of thing. Does she even know what sport is? Has she even played it before? Why does she even care when she refuses to live in Australia?

They were invited to her Mum's recent 70th birthday dinner in Sydney. It's hard to believe, isn't it. Well there it is above! An actual photo of Nicole with Keith's parents! Well, her new agent surely advised her to disappear from public view for awhile so he can work on his 'Reinvention of Nicole Kidman Strategy'. Also, with the embarrassing flop that NINE was, it really was in Nicole's best interest to avoid the Oscars. How much can the public take of someone referred to as 'box office poison'?

The Oscars seemed to be more enjoyable this year. Everybody acted cool, and the speeches were bearable. Another reason they were so enjoyable was the absence of Nicole Kidman. Nothing worse than watching her on stage doing a presentation, and name dropping while she is at it. Nicole loves everyone to know that she is good friends with Sandra, Meryl, George and Oprah ... bla bla bla. So instead of just giving a presentation speech, Nicole would probably say something like "And my dear friend Sandra is being nominated tonight for Blind Side. I love this woman, we make cup-cakes together. Oh, and George Clooney is a very good friend of mine, and Meryl and Sigourney too".

The reason Nicole wants you to know she has friends in high places is because she can't believe it herself. A high school drop-out from Down Under knows Meryl Streep ... amazing.

Nicole Kidman attended the 12th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards in Beverly Hills this week, along with third lip, to acknowledge the work of costume designers in films.

Nicole was there to pay tribute to Nine's director Rob Marshall, who was awarded the Distinguished Collaborator Award. Even though the movie was a huge flop around the world, someone thought the costumes were pretty special and deserved some credit.

Nicole also took the chance to acknowledge the costume designers who have created the many wigs she has worn in movies, at ceremonies and any other time.

Is Nicole Kidman becoming a victim of the Joan Crawford Syndrome?

Joan Crawford was a Hollywood movie star who had the glory times and the down times in her career. She was often criticised, particularly by Bette Davis, for not being able to act (remind you of anybody?). Joan adopted four children, married multiple times, and was labelled Box Office Poison for many years. Joan started out as a very striking individual, but in her 40's began doing weird things to her face and hair. While there was no botox in those days, Joan relied on severe eyebrows, thick lipstick and butch hairdo's to be noticed (think "Johnny Guitar"). In 1945 she won an Oscar for "Mildred Pierce" and her career began to take off again, for a few years at least. Joan thrived on attention and hated it when the glory days dried up again. Her later years saw her settle for C-grade horror movies to keep her name known - think "Trog" and "I Saw What You Did".

We're not suggesting Nicole will end up doing C-grade horror films, but you never know. What we are suggesting is the lengths Nicole may go to, to stay in the limelight. Changing her appearance even more. Nicole's facial changes have, at times, being very scary, just like Joan's.

The one big difference between these two women, is that Joan became a Hollywood Legend (despite her down years). What are Kidman's chances of being known as Legend down the track? Don't know? Go see Lauren Bacall.

Nicole escorted Keith to the Granny (Freeze) Awards last night towering over him in her high heels. Nicole wore a long black Prada (yep, she loves her black dresses), and she likes Keith to wear those silver/grey suits. Unfortunately, as we've stated before, Keith is too short and short men don't look good in suits. You'd think at the Grammy Awards, Keith could try to look more the country music artist, say in jeans and a nice t-shirt. Just saying ...

Ryan Seacrest gave Keith the chance to clarify some recent comments he'd made about illegal downloading of music. It's a bit late now Keith, backpeddling won't help. We all know what you meant! It will all blow over one day for you, hopefully.

Is my frozen face losing me work?

A new article claims that Lady Kidman is not being offered roles anymore because of her frozen face. Well, d'uh! Just check out the above photos from her recent appearances at the Hope for Haiti, and SAG Awards. Nicole does indeed look frozen. Nicole should know by now that cinema-goers want to see emotion in an actor's face. We want to know that they take their craft seriously, not their plastic surgery.

We have to say though, that it is great to see Nicole returning to curls, rather than the dreadful straight hair extensions that she wears too often. The curls soften her face and make her look slightly less frozen. And let's face it, Nicole looks much better with the dark red hair, as shown above. Let's give some credit, where credit is due. Red has always suited her, as do curls.

Some people would say that it's not just the frozen face making her lose work. Some would say it is her bad acting too. You decide! If the bad acting is the case, we are stumped how she won an award for THE HOURS. Was that really a sympathy Oscar because Tom had dumped her? Everyone knew Julianne Moore deserved the golden man for THE HOURS.

Never one to miss out on any attention, Nicole turned up at the Golden Globes with her own globes on high beam. Another wardrobe malfunction or deliberate? We think the latter. This photo also shows her new breasts more clearly too. These are the enlarged boobs she apparently obtained from pregnancy and breastfeeding. Lucky for her, they didn't deflate two years later. Or is it really because she is friends with Pamela Anderson's surgeon? You decide.

The Sonny and Cher Hour

As expected, Nicole did not miss out on attending this year's annual G'Day USA Dinner on 16 January. Many Aussie ex-pat celebrities turn up to the event to collect awards and hang out with old mates. Even non-Aussies like John Travolta turn up regularly for the event.

Nicole was not up for an award. However, she was not going to miss out on being in the papers, so went on stage with husband Keith to sing a tune, and do a little dance. People mistakingly thought they were watching The Sonny and Cher Hour because Nicole was wearing her long hair extensions. At least Cher's were real. The two sang a dedication (to the tune of Down Under), for their mate Simon Baker. Simon picked up an award for The Mentalist.

Nicole promised that her duet with Keith was a one-off. Somehow we doubt that. As her film career continues to decline, singing with Keith may be the only way to get some sort of publicity. Even bad publicity is considered better than nothing!

Remember when Nicole said she would retire to enjoy motherhood and the quiet life after a string of flop movies? She's hoping you've forgotten that. NINE is a confirmed flop, but that doesn't mean she will retire now. She just moves to the other part of life where she gets a different kind of attention. She will not go quietly, OK?

Nicole spoke at the opening of the Family Violence Prevention Fund Headquarters in San Franciso last Friday in her role as Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Fund for Women. The Fund aims to end violence against women and children.

Nicole said:“We’ve been able to approach governments around the world and we’ve been able to say, we want you to acknowledge your laws, change your laws and to speak out strongly. This is action, this is San Francisco showing what they can do and it's starting as you're right here -- the walls, the windows -- this is the place where it begins. And we have to make that vision stronger."

It is always good to see a celebrity using their name for a good cause. However, it's hard not to think that Nicole uses them as photo opportunities. Is she truly sincere in this role? Who really knows, but looks like she had a trip to the Botox Clinic before attending (based on the above left photo).

Sandra Bullock, the current darling of the Box Office picked up Awards for The Proposal and The Blind Side. Sandra is by no means a classically trained actress, but she has star quality and can pull in an audience. Nicole hugged Sandra at the Awards, to forgive her for stealing her hairstyle. You may recall the two starred together in Practical Magic in 1998. You don't remember that silly film? Come on now, it was the one where Nicole got to play herself. You know, a witch.

The case of the missing inlaws

In marriages you often find that the groom hangs out more with the bride's family. Perhaps this is because the bride can't stand the mother-in-law or monster-in-law. Ever wondered why Nicole never visits Queensland where Keith's parents and his brother Shane live? Is it because they are too common for HER liking? I mean Keith's Dad has one of those long moustaches and is not as well educated as Doctor Antony Kidman. Keith's Mum is not as well educated as Nurse Janelle Kidman. Still, this shouldn't matter since Nicole herself dropped out of high school.

Perhaps it is more because Keith's parents don't fit the image of inlaws that NKU fanatics would expect. Or is it because they are 'too countryish'? Anyone who has been to Caboolture will know the sort of townsfolk you get there. Nevertheless, there are some lovely regions around that part of Australia. Keith's brother Shane lives close-by on the beautiful Sunshine Coast and is well regarded by the locals. By the way, what I like about Shane is that he is balding gracefully, unlike Keith.

You may recall, Nicole arrived into Sydney recently to see her family, and Keith followed after finishing the Brisbane concert. He remained in Sydney to spend Christmas with HER family again. Remember last year, when they spent Christmas with HER parents again (in Nashville). Whatever happened to one year with your family, and one year with my family. Like married people do.

How come she will only buy investment properties in the State she comes from? Surely Keith would like a place in Queensland? Perhaps he already has one or two there, before he met Nicole.

So, does anyone else get the impression that Nicole doesn't like his parents much? It's all just seems rather odd.

Kurbans new investment property

They won't live in Sydney ever again (thank you) but they are happy to purchase a new penthouse apartment in Lavender Bay to stay in once a year. The new $6 million purchase is close to where Nicole's parents live. The photo above shows Nicole on the balcony during a house warming luncheon with her parents.

You may recall Nicole got rid of the Darling Point home she owned last year claiming it did not have enough outdoor garden for children. Why was that an important issue when she never stays in Sydney, I hear you ask. Exactly. Notice they didn't buy a Queensland property near Keith's parents? That's because ...

"Oh Keith, these 18 hour flights are terrible for my skin!"

Nicole and Sunday Rose touched down on a wet Sydney yesterday to reunite with Keith (who is currently touring). Keith looked pleased to see his daughter, but who knows if that applies to Nicole. Lady Kidman is in Australia for the Christmas holidays, and to chill out at her country estate at Sutton Forest. Yes, the same country estate which has angered locals since she erected privacy structures all around to block out intruders and paparazzi. Apparently, Nicole has also had trees planted which grow to over 40 metres high. Locals are furious because these sorts of trees ruin the overall open feel of the area.

Get the feeling the locals aren't too thrilled with her? You have to wonder why she bothered doing any of the privacy structures when she only goes there once a year, if that. And let's remember, she refuses to live in Australia again. Oh well, I guess the hired help will enjoy the privacy the rest of the year.

Nicole the clown at NY Premiere

Now that her career is truly up for a change, Nicole has decided to put some ideas out there. If there are any visiting circuses in town, Nicole would like a job as a clown. At the New York premiere of NINE last night, Nicole decided to add some white powder under her eyes and nose to the already caked on layers of make-up (she even looked like ADAM ANT).

Either somebody forgot to tell her that it wasn't applied properly or everyone just hates her. Still, Nicole found a way (yet again) to find front page news. You might say for all the wrong reasons, but Nicole is not going to be upstaged by Marion, Kate or Penelope. Let's remember, she's been around longer than them. And a Diva expects respect, at any cost! Publicity is publicity, but why is she telling everyone to be quiet? What's with the SSSSH's in so many of her photos lately?

Nicole's games with the Paps

Hot on the heels of Keith's Melbourne concert last night, Nicole has told the Sunday Telegraph that she can never make Sydney her home again because of the Paparazzi. In her own words:

"It makes certain cities impossible to live in. Like Sydney, it makes it impossible for us to live there. We certainly don't get that treatment in Tennessee. But it goes with the territory. It's just, we have to be careful, just to maintain some sort of semblance of a normal life for our child. At the moment Keith's career requires him to be based in Nashville, because there isn't a huge career for him in terms of country music in Australia. At the same time we're so connected to Australia, because our parents, my sister, our nieces and nephews, are all based there. So it really is a pull. I miss my mum and dad so much."

You may recall an earlier post on this Blog from May 2009 - this is not the first time the Urbans have raised this issue. We then pointed out that many Australian film stars (who are much more talented that Nicole) live in Australia, and do so without any trouble from the Paps. That is because they go about their daily lives in a normal manner without seeking attention. For example, they don't ring radio stations, reminding everybody that they are in town. Do you get the feeling Nicole is bringing all this up again to gain some sympathy ahead of her new movie NINE? Perhaps the Australian critics will be kinder this time round, following the wreck that was Australia.

Do you notice something else? Yes, Nicole has found a way to get her name in the papers again this week. As a friend pointed out some weeks ago, there is something about Kidman in the papers EVERY WEEK it seems. The way she likes it, perhaps?

Nicole Kidman has admitted in the latest People Magazine 'Reader's Questions' segment that Sophia Loren is her role model. In her own words: "I just worked with Sophia Loren [in Nine], and she is so gorgeous and she has such grace. I use her as a role model.”

You may recall she made similar comments about Lauren Bacall after working with her in the horrid movie Birth. Just as well Lauren didn't get sucked in to the crawling job. Nicole is a crawler, yes?

If you could work a normal job, what would you want it to be?
I’d love to be an interior designer. I just love walking into a room and redoing it. When my girlfriends are buying an apartment, they’ll always ask me to come along because I’m going ‘You can knock that wall down, just put a little bit of paint there.’

What is your favorite new thing that Sunday Rose has learned?
She now points at anything and goes, ‘Bug.’ That’s her word. We were in the hotel room the other day, and there was a little sprinkler up in the corner of the room. She kept pointing at it and going ‘bug!’ Keith had to hold her up and prove to her that it wasn’t a bug.

What mundane chores do you like to do?
Strangely enough, I love putting clothes in the washing machine. I would always do the washing growing up – that was one of my jobs. And I quite like ironing shirts.

Keith and I love coffee. I love the foam more than the coffee. I will go and order a cappuccino and say, make it all foam and very little coffee. They know me now at the Starbucks in Nashville.

How did you overcome your shyness?
I think a lot of it has to do with just getting comfortable in my own skin. That’s part of getting older. It’s okay to be 5 ft. 11 in. and all of the things that I used to feel awkward about. I now feel comfortable. A lot of that comes with being loved.

How do you cope working in an industry that refuses to let women age naturally and gracefully?
Well, I live in Tennessee so it is slightly different than living in L.A. I just worked with Sophia Loren [in Nine], and she is so gorgeous and she has such grace. I use her as a role model.

Your husband has several tattoos, would you ever consider getting one?
No. I am tattooless.

Do you like to cook?
I am a terrible cook. I cook chicken for Keith, and it’s always dry. I’m a much better person to cook for because I love food and I will eat almost anything.

Everyone knows Nicole loves a chance to be snapped by the cameras, especially at a premiere (unless it's for a dud film like The Invasion, which she refused to do any publicity for ... who could blame her).

Nicole and Keith arrived in London yesterday for the premiere of Nine, the musical where Nicole's dancing scene ended up on the cutting room floor. Despite only appearing in the film for some 15 minutes, Nicole decided not to let any of the limelight go the other stars at the premiere. She stood out with even longer hair extensions and a stark white dress.

So, while Nicole's appearance in Nine is quite brief, we are very thankful to the Director for cutting out her dancing scene. Leave those kind of scenes to Penelope and Kate.

Anyway, let the Nicole Kidman PR machine for Nine run its course. She is on a mission to remind you that she is still a big movie star.

Boob Job? The world media thinks so, or is it thanks to baby?

As for the lips ... well, Mick Jagger wants them back!

This past week has been a journey I am sure Nicole planned but perhaps didn't think out carefully. After showing off her enlarged boobs at the recent CMA Awards, the world media quickly flattened them back to their normal teeny-weeny size. They criticised them! Nicole quickly came back and said her boobs were bigger from breastfeeding Sunday Rose. Somehow we can't see Nicole doing any breastfeeding, can you?

Then the media started speculating about her bigger fuller lips. These new lips really first appeared during her PR stints for The Golden Compass in Japan some 2 years ago. However, because of the recent focus on her boobs, everyone is now noticing the fuller lips. Nicole once had the thinnest lips in Hollywood, and was all gums too. Yes, and even the gums have been fixed up too it seems. Some serious teeth work, perhaps?

If only she hadn't said she was completely natural, the media would have let all this slip by. Is it better to be honest from the start, or is a woman entitled to secret alterations? On the other hand, is it better to accept what God has given you, or is it necessary in this day and age to attack any part of your body to look younger? Hmmm.

Night Out with Sunday Morning Meeting

Sunday Rose was only too pleased to tag along with Mum on a night-out in New York this week to see why the city is known as the best city in the world. We're not sure how many nightclubs they visited, but we hope they had a great time. Interestingly, Nicole managed to hold Sunday long enough to convince photographers and reporters that, despite her skinny frame, she was strong enough to handle this task. Let's face it, some toddlers are heavy to carry around.

Earlier that day, Nicole was seen leaving a meeting in New York. Was the meeting to determine visitation rights, or was it to get Gywen to sign the dotted line? Maybe it was a meeting with her plastic surgeon to discuss the next round of facial enhancements.

Nicole tagged along with hubby Keith Urban for the annual Country Music Awards (CMA) this week. Keith picked up the Musical Event of the Year Award but missed out on all four major categories, thanks to the currently popular Taylor Swift. Nobody comes close to Taylor these days, it seems.

More interesting was Nicole's busty appearance clearly showing the surgical enhancements of recent years. As we all know, Nicole was once a flat-chested Aussie with freckles.

Overall, Nicole looked quite good on the CMA evening, but you would too if you'd had all the 'assistance' she regularly has.

Out Always In Replacement?

It seems for many years there has been talk of a movie that Nicole will produce and star in called The Danish Girl. For some reason, this movie just doesn't seem to get off the ground. Is it because of the difficult theme? Nicole is supposed to play a man who becomes a woman. Is this beyond her acting abilities? Mmm, maybe.

The Danish Girl is based on a true story of a couple who maintained an unconvential marriage until Einar Wegener (Kidman) began a series of sex change operations in 1929. The King of Demark declared their marriage invalid. Wegener underwent five operations to become a woman., but died at 49 years of age after complications following surgery.

Charlize Theron was set to play Nicole's husband, but recently pulled out. Who knows the real reason Charlize did that. It could have been because she didn't want to be associated with box office poison Nicole, or she may have been offered a better role.

Not to worry, there are always other actresses prepared to step in to save the day. And who better to play Nicole's husband than another box office poison, Gwyen Paltrow. Gwyen has signed on, and now filming may finally begin. Notice I say may? Well you just never know. This film has a long history of 'being in the works'.

'Mundane' to 'strange sexual fetish stuff' is how Nicole Kidman has described her experience of marriage to GQ Magazine (British edition) - which hits the stands this Thursday.

Nicole explained "I've explored obsession. I've explored loss and love in terms of being in a grief-stricken place, I've explored strange sexual fetish stuff and the mundane aspect of marriage."

Nicole once again took the chance to remind us all that she was married to TOM CRUISE. She said: "I became famous very young. I became very famous because I was the wife of somebody. I know my agents at the time were like 'do not get married, it will ruin your career' and I was like 'but I'm in love'. All I know is that I was someone who wasn't interested in fame. And that's not why I got married. I wanted to work with people who intrigued me."

Nicole also revealed in the interview that she burns all her diaries, so none of the juicy stuff will ever be revealed. For example - who is the real mother of Sunday. Or how many men did Tom have sex with during their marriage. Jeez, fancy writing all these diaries, just to burn them! Sounds like another boring Kidman interview - agree? Not interested in fame? Ha! Australian Film Industry snubs Kidman

"Don't worry about the AFI, Nicole. You still got to work with me!"

The nominations for the 51st AFI Awards were announced last week. Lady Kidman was overlooked for a best actress nomination in Australia, while the film also missed out on a best picture nomination. Hugh Jackman and Baz Luhrmann also missed out on nominations. The film has picked up nominations in other categories, including best supporting actor (Brandon Walters). Let's admit it, the kid was probably the best thing about the film.

Despite doing reasonably well at the Box Office in Australia, the film received poor reviews from critics worldwide. Kidman's performance was heavily criticised, and she was also overlooked at the Academy Awards earlier this year. It's no surprise to Nicole Kidman's Journey that Nic missed out on a nomination in her home country. The film was way too long, and it was difficult watching a wooden performance, frozen face and pumped lips for nearly three hours.

Sophie Lowe and Frances Oconnor are among the nominees for best actress for their roles in Beautiful Kate and Blessed. The AFI Awards will be held on 12 December in Melbourne. I guess we won't see Nicole and Keith in the audience, right?

Two magic moments?

Results are in for Nicole Kidman's Most Staged Moment. And would you believe, two moments have tied at No. 1! They are:

Nicole's appearance on Oprah where she produced a photograph of Sunday, after previously telling the world media she would never show her baby. It was such a staged moment, particularly when she claimed the photo was taken on Keith's mobile camera, yet was obviously a professionally taken photo. How many mothers go to sleep with make-up on?

Also coming in at No. 1 was the infamous ARIA 2007 appearance where Nicole turned up in a see-through black dress revealing her G-string and bra. Not a classy look for a 40 year old woman. Nicole pretended to be unaware of what was on view, and a coat was handed to her sometime later to put on.

Nicole Kidman gave evidence to the US Congress this week which is considering legislation to address violence against women overseas. As we all know, Nicole is a UN Ambassador for Violence Against Women.

Nicole claimed that film makers could do more to guard against such violence, but insisted the industry was making efforts to address the issue. Nicole speaks from experience, considering many of her own films show violence against women including Dogville and Dead Calm.

There is a slight crease in Nicole's forehead. Nicole knows if she wants to be taken seriously, she needs to lay off the Botox a bit. Looks like she may have on this occasion. Or perhaps the Botox Clinic ran out of stock.

Reports have been less than kind for this photoshopped cover, particularly of Nicole's tranny looking facial features. Ms Kidman appeared at the Omega flagship shop party in New York this week. Some articles are raving about what she has done to her hair with the high ponytail. While other, more honest articles are telling it like it is i.e. that the hair is nothing more than a wig/hairpiece from the Kidman collection. As most of us know, Nicole's own hair is a thinning frizz-ball these days, but she'd prefer you to be sucked in by the positive reviews.

One thing none of the reports are denying is that she has been back to the Botox clinic. As these photos reveal, her skin is so tight and wrinkle free that she is unable to talk freely. Nicole has chosen to continue using Botox to achieve the shiny wrinkle-free face, but at what cost? There will be no Botox left for anyone else ! Worse still, who really knows the long-term effects of this rat poison product?

Does Nicole Kidman like putting on a show when she is off-screen too? Here at Nicole Kidman's Journey we definitely think so. She loves to play it up for the camera, any attention will do nicely thank you. There have been so many staged moments for Lady Kidman, that it is very hard to find the 10 best. Nevertheless we have come up with some memorable performances. And she said she was a shy person, can you believe that?

Let's count them down:

Nicole showed up in court in 2006 in a conservative outfit to face the wicked paparazzi, Jamie Fawcett. He allegedly chased her in his car and bugged her home. The only way anyone was going to feel sorry for Nicole was if she put on a sad, troubled face. The media bought it, the court bought it ... and the public had a good chuckle.

Most Oscar photo opportunities are staged moments for any star. But the above photos are truly staged moments for Lady Kidman. Not only did she think she was red hot in that red dress, but she snuggled up to big star Meryl Streep just to remind you she has friends in high places. Only problem was, the photo really proved she was a fan of Botox. She could barely smile.

Here we have the Kurbans at the Australia Tennis Open in 2007. They mastered watching when the cameras would pan around to them and then took every opportunity to remind you that they really were in love. And to ensure you always remembered, they promised to continue this 'look of love' at every public performance.

See I told you. Here we have them again, loving it up for the cameras at the 2009 CMA Awards. Unfortunately Nicole decided to show her boney lily white back through the strapless black frock. I get the feeling these dresses are made for people with tanned backs?

Nicole likes to visit the Sydney Children's Hospital every time she is in Australia (which is very rarely). This is very kind of her to do this, but somehow the media are always there to film her. Why is that?

Oh no! Here we go again. The cameras are panning around to the Kurbans, this time at the US Open in 2009. Quick, let's kiss Keith so everyone knows we are besotted with each other.

This is a real favourite. The Kurbans at the CMA Awards in 2008. At that time, there were some nasty rumours going around that Nicole wasn't really pregnant, and if she was, the belly was ever so tiny. This cleverly staged moment was designed to show that even Keith believed there was a baby in there.

Here we have Nicole and first husband Tom departing Australia in 1993 following a family visit with their adopted children, Connor and Isabella. If there was any speculation that Nicole didn't really enjoy being a mother then, this photo was set to prove the critics wrong. Can't you see the adoration in her eyes? I wonder if she still remembers these kid's names.

Here we have Nicole on Oprah in early 2009. Now let's remember that Nicole swore she would never show the world what her baby, Sunday Rose, looked like. Oprah asked if she could see a photo of Sunday Rose, so Nicole produced a perfect snapshot from her purse. The whole thing just looked so staged, especially the professionally shot photo, which Nicole said Keith had taken with his mobile camera. Hmmm.

Here we have the No. 1 Staged Moment. Nicole Kidman at the 2007 ARIAS in Australia. This was the first of many ocassions when Nicole would wear see-through dresses with designer G-strings to remind you what a sexy, slender body she has. Of course she pretended she was unaware that people could see through it. Then about half an hour lately, a coat was handed to her. We think she was told, not asked, to put that coat on! Afterall, ARIAs is telecast during family viewing time.

Nicole gets a touch-up in time for dinner

Nicole met up with best friend Naomi Watts this week for the annual Important Dinner for Women (No. 4) in New York City. Nicole has clearly had a lip injection done and some more botox. How can we tell? Just look at her in comparison to Naomi. What we all love about Naomi is she is natural, and doesn't care about her wrinkles. Way to go Naomi! Also in attendance on the night were Naomi Campbell, Jessica Alba and lots of other women.

While Nicole thought the dinner was to honour her contributions to the film industry, we are assured that the dinner was much more important and deeper than that. Still, a great way to get some publicity ahead of a new movie coming out.

We all know Nicole and Keith like going to the tennis ... but not to watch it. They go to the tennis to be noticed. Remember when they attended the Australian Open two years ago? As soon as the cameras were on them, they did the "kissing routine". Just to remind you that they are in love.

The same ritual was seen this week at the US Open. Good to see that Nicole's hair extensions didn't get in the way. Thank god for that.

This is the movie tipped to turn Nicole's career around after a long series of flops. Above are scenes from Rabbit Hole, a film which is now in post production. It is about a couple who have lost their son, and also stars Aaron Eckhart. The film was originally about a rabbit who moves to New York after her hole was filled with dirt. However, scriptwriters changed the story as they were unable to find a rabbit costume big enough for Nicole to fit into.

It will be interesting to see if Nicole can shed the tears necessary for her role as a grieving mother. We'll see. There is always the onion trick. Somehow I just can't see Nicole pulling this off. I hope I am wrong for the sake of her career.

Enjoying summer weather in Nashville recently was little Sunday Rose and her mum, Nicole. Sunday is pretty cute, but I still can't any resemblance to Nicole. Others do apparently, I just see more of Keith in Sunday.

Some mention of Nicole's other child this week, Connor. Tom is strongly encouraging him to continue with movies following his role in Seven Pounds. On the other hand, Nicole would prefer it if he didn't. And it's not just because the kid can't act to save his life. Nicole knows from personal experience that being in movies can be soul destroying. Why? One flop after another, what else! Tom doesn't get off the hook, though. He's been in quite a few flops himself in recent times. Who could forget "Lions for Lambs"?

Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum in London unveiled their Nicole wax work in 2007. Now their Hong Kong branch has paid tribute to the wrinkle-free darling by releasing their wax version. Once again the public cannot tell the difference because Nicole, with all her Botox and plastic surgery, looks like a wax work. This has caused chaos at the Hong Kong museum with the public seen poking and kicking the Nicole wax statue trying to get it to say something. The locals are convinced Nicole has moved to Hong Kong.

This new movie promises to show Nicole's full acting range, although she is not new to playing animals. You may recall she played a dog in Dogville.

Exercise mad Antonia Kidman continues to lose kilos in an effort to possibly avoid the dreaded "Kidman Tummy" which all the Kidman women apparently inherit. Younger sister Antonia was photographed in Sydney the other day looking painfully thin (see top left). This follows on from her appearance at the April 2009 ASTRA Awards (bottom left and right) where onlookers were concerned about her gaunt looking face and general frailness. One mean journalist described her look as "Bride of Frankenstein" at those awards.

Antonia apparently runs 15km each day. Let's hope the mother of four isn't trying to copy big sister Nicole's mad exercise regime and lettuce eating ways.

Nicole's birthday present from Keith

Nicole stepped out of her New York apartment yesterday to show off the new light blue cardigan she received for her recent 42nd birthday. The Style Icon was keen to give New Yorkers some tips on how to get the dowdy look this summer. I don't know about you, but Nicole looks particularly Grannyish in this outfit. Agree? Perhaps that's the look this summer.

Then and Now ... with Daddy Kidman

Nicole turned 42 the other day. Yes, I know what you are thinking! You thought she looked more like 50 (with those wrinkly red hands). Anyway, in usual style, Nicole decided to reflect on the special day by thinking about her break-up with Tom Cruise (yep, again!) This time around though, Nicole thanked her father for the support he gave during that difficult marriage meltdown:

"When my marriage fell apart, I needed to reach out to my dad. He was wonderful," she said. He stood by me, comforted me; showed me, at a time when I really needed to see it, the way a man can be strong, dignified and loving. I'm very grateful that I had such a good father, to see me through that time, because it put me in good stead for trusting again the next time I fell in love.It wasn't until I was older that I really realised how special my father is, too."

Thank you, Nicole. Where would we be without your regular soul bearing sessions? Many happy returns for your birthday. Save us some cake!

Red Rabbit Nicole

Nicole has finally listened to this Blog and realised the blonde hair extensions made her look old and pale. So, Nicole started returning to the red hair extensions slowly but surely. Now the extensions are even redder, just in time for her new movie The Rabbit Hole (see photos above).

The Rabbit Hole is currently filming in New York. Nicole plays a rabbit who comes home one afternoon to find that her hole has been filled up with dirt by a horrible hunter. Unable to get the dirt out and save her belongings, Nicole hops to New York in search of a better hole to live in. On the way, she visits a pet store and changes her fur to bright red. The film is tipped to give the new Disney film Bugs Bunny Does New York a run for its money. Where is Alex Forrest (Glenn Close) from Fatal Attraction when you need her most?

'Kidman Tummy' on show again

Some of the world media are once again claiming Nicole is pregnant after she stepped out on Wednesday night in a red nightie - revealing a tummy or bump.

How often do they need to be reminded that it's more likely the 'Kidman tummy' that is on display ... the one all the Kidman women have. Nicole, you must learn to suck in when the Paps are watching you!

"Nine" gets some things right

More news from the upcoming film NINE is that Nicole will be singing some songs. Nicole has done it before in 2001 for Moulin Rouge and also a duet with Robbie Williams. We're not saying she's a brilliant singer, but we've heard alot worse.

In the movie NINE, Nicole is almost suitably cast as an 'ageing sexbomb' who chases after Daniel Day-Lewis. They got the 'ageing' part right, but the 'sexbomb' part? This should be 'vixen'.

Nicole dumps Woody

Lady Nicole has apparently quit the new Woody Allen film this week after learning how to read a script and not liking what she read. A replacement is yet to be announced.

See if you can pick the other reason why Nicole left the project:

Nicole was not prepared to take a small part against best friend Naomi's meatier part.
Nicole would rather tag along on Keith's tour for the rest of the year to keep an eye on him.
Nicole is pregnant and has dreadful morning sickness.
The other cast members had refused to work with Nicole because they were worried her name would mean the film would flop.
Keith demanded that Nicole keep to her promise of retiring from making movies. Frankly the world has had enough of her movies ... therefore Keith is right to demand this.

Perhaps you may have a better reason. Good news is, the world is now a better place because there will be one less Kidman movie to flop.

Keith's Tour Underway: No Fun Allowed

Keith Urban's latest tour has well and truly started. The tour bus is all fired up, and has even been modified and lengthened to include private quarters to accommodate Nicole and Sunday (who plan to tag along for portions of the journey). The tour will see Keith busy right up until the end of the year, at least.

Keith has already been besieged by groupies and the temptation of after-concert parties. Luckily with Nicole on board, there will be no chance of Keith enjoying himself too much, or too hard.

No Australian dates have yet been confirmed. Apparently this is because the huge tour bus will not fit on the plane. Bummer, I was so looking forward to jumping on stage and singing "I thank you, I thank you, for NOT being my wife!"

Nicole's Ginger Ale commercial was released this week on various websites. This is the commercial that Nicole recently made in India with the 'Slumdog Millionaire' girl for Indian audiences. It was directed by Ridley Scott and makes no sense! It tries to be cute too, but is really just another cringe-worthy Kidman project.

The cut version of the commercial, which completely removes Nicole Kidman, makes much more sense! It will be available very soon because apparently Ginger Ale sales in India have crashed since the uncut commercial was released.

Nicole now gets an additional label. Not only is she 'Box Office Poison', but also 'TV Poison' (well, in India anyway).

Keith Urban: "We love Oz but get no privacy"

It's usually Nicole who says she loves Australia but simply can't live or spend too much time here because the paparazzi invade her every move. Now Keith is saying similar in an April interview with the Sunday Telegraph Magazine. An excerpt from the interview about this issue is below:

"Within my art, I will speak about what I want to speak about, but that's not the same as someone shoving a camera lens in your face when you're at the beach. I don't get it in Nashville, which is one of the many reasons we love being there. But we love being in Australia too, but it's a bit of that intrusiveness that sometimes keeps us from spending time in places we'd like to be."

Keith - don't forget that you were once able to roam Australia freely without anyone bothering you before you became Mr Nicole Kidman. You brought all of this on yourself. You were largely unknown in this country; your fan base was almost non-existent. You are now famous by association (just like Nicole was when she was married to Tom). You may have forgotten that your wife actually encourages the paparazzi when she is Australia. That's right. She'll ring up radio stations telling them she is in town and ask everyone to leave her alone.

Keith - as this Blog has stated before, many Australian actors choose to live in Australia and do so comfortably (see their photo's above). You rarely see their names and photos in the papers here. They do not seek out attention. Their pictures and names are provided so you can call them if you need any ideas on how to achieve a comfortable visit here, or a future permanent stay.

Keith - we do understand that you need to live in Nashville for your music career. We also understand that Nicole would get bored living in Australia again, and the Paps would get bored with her fast too. Australia is too far from the big overseas parties and opportunities that your darling Nicole loves.

It's all OK though! You can change your minds when your parents get older and need you more. Not to mention the lonely alpacas you bought at Easter for the Bunya Hill homestead - they are awaiting your next visit. Come home soon!

UNIFEM: Nicole's saving grace?

What is an actress to do when the movie roles dry up fast? A common problem with actresses in their 40s. However, many would argue that if a person is a good actor then the film offers will keep rolling in, regardless of their age. Just look at Meryl Streep, for example. Luckily Nicole still has the UNIFEM Ambassador role to fall back on, which still allows her some of the public adoration she craves.

This week Nicole welcomed the Australian Government's plan to reduce violence against women which sees it committing to recommendations outlined in a major report prepared by the National Council to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children. In excerpts from her statement, Nicole Kidman commends the Australian Government’s action:

"As UNIFEM's Goodwill Ambassador, for the past three years I've worked to amplify women's voices and shine a light on the global pandemic of violence against women and girls, which affects as many as one in three during their lifetime. The more I've learned, the clearer it is that ending violence against women is a problem with solutions. I commend the National Council to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children, and the Government of Australia, for their strong endorsement to implement targeted actions. The national plan calls for actions and investment. As spokesperson for UNIFEM's Say NO to Violence against Women campaign, I've seen that Governments from many parts of the world are increasingly recognizing that ending violence against women is a national and international priority. Australia's leadership, through the national plan to reduce violence against women, sends a strong and hopeful signal that working together, we can change attitudes and practices and prevent these crimes against women and girls. It takes us all to 'say NO to Violence' and provide the services and accountability that will literally save women's lives."

As this Blog has said before, initiatives like UNIFEM are examples of where movie stars or ex-movie stars can use their names for worthwhile causes. However, whether Nicole should be allowed to write her own speeches is another issue. Think especially of the cringe worthy "March for Babies" speech. Perhaps she got some help this time round.

Nicole's new friends look like their owners

They often say that people start to resemble their pets over a period of time. Nicole and Keith purchased some Alpacas for the Bunya Homestead on their recent Easter visit to Australia. If you look closely at the above photos, you will see that the new friends ALREADY resemble their owners. So much so that we found it almost impossible to tell which photo is Nicole and Keith and which photo is Mr and Mrs Alpaca Kurban. The male Alpaca loves the fake orange tan like Keith, while the female Alpaca prefers the lily white skin ... like someone else we know.

Latex face Nicole marches on, despite jet lag

Who needs sleep when you are Mrs Nicole Kurban? Nicole wasted no time settling back into the Nashville community following her recent return from Australia. After being knocked back for a job as a Rollergirl attendant, Nicole volunteered to speak at a worthwhile event. This Blog will never poke fun at worthwhile events ... and let's face it, this is where celebrities can use their names appropriately.

Nicole was guest speaker at the March for Babies in Nashville on Sunday which helps raise money to fund research to prevent premature births and infant death. Nicole said "To all of the volunteers and all of the people who work so timelessly, I know everyone here is grateful to you and hopefully more and more money can be raised so more and more good work can be done."

Nicole and Keith arrived back in LA on Friday morning shielding Sunday's face as much as they could from the Paparazzi. Interestingly, Keith did not duck for cover this time round, and stayed around to help shield her face with his arm. I assume the Paps in LA were annoying on this particular day. Not long ago, Nicole said the Aussie Paps were the worst in the world, but just look at how easy she was with them in Sydney on Good Friday, showing off Sunday like she was a doll. You see, Nicole plays her PR cards a few different ways, predictable as these methods can be. Or perhaps they were all just tired. Let's give them that much.
